Privacy Policy

1. Overview

Gadget Minder helps parents manage child device usage through policy controls and device-level enforcement. This policy explains what data may be collected, how it is used, and what choices users have.

2. Information We Collect

• Account and pairing details needed to connect parent and child devices.
• Policy configuration data set by the parent (app limits, schedules, control settings).
• Operational telemetry required to keep protections working (for example, policy sync status).
• App usage statistics from child devices to enforce parent-configured limits.
• Subscription status for parent accounts (see section 5).

3. How We Use Information

• To provide parental control features and enforce configured policies.
• To synchronize settings between parent and child devices.
• To improve reliability, security, and abuse prevention.

4. Data Sharing

Gadget Minder does not sell personal information. Data is shared only with service providers required to operate core functionality (for example, cloud hosting and notifications), under appropriate safeguards.

5. Purchases and Subscriptions

Subscriptions are sold and processed by Google Play. Gadget Minder never receives your card or bank details.

To know whether a parent account has an active subscription, we store the following for that account:

• The subscription product ID, its current state and its expiry time.
• Whether it is set to renew automatically.
• The latest Google Play order ID and the Google Play purchase token.
• Whether the purchase was a test purchase.

We check each purchase with Google's servers through the Google Play Developer API. Google Play also notifies our server about renewals, cancellations and refunds as they happen, through Google Cloud Pub/Sub.

This information is shared only with Google (Google Play Billing, the Google Play Developer API and Google Cloud Pub/Sub) and with Railway, which hosts our servers. It is kept while your account exists and is deleted together with the account. The data export in the parent app (Settings → Download My Data) includes your subscription record, without the purchase token.

Purchases, renewals, cancellations and refunds are handled by Google Play under Google's own terms and privacy policy. You can cancel at any time in Google Play.

6. Data Retention

Data is retained only as long as necessary to provide the service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements.

7. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards to protect data. No system can be guaranteed 100% secure, but we continuously work to reduce risk.

8. Children's Privacy

Gadget Minder is intended for parents/guardians to manage devices for their own children. Parents are responsible for lawful use and consent where required by local law.

9. Your Choices

• You may request account or data deletion, subject to legal and operational requirements. See the account deletion page.
• You may stop using the service at any time.
